About
I'm Matt, a native English teacher from the US residing in Mexico. I'm a certified ESL teacher with 11 years of experience. I've taught a variety of classes including business English, conversation, general English, and test preparation for exams such as the TOEFL, TOEIC, and Cambridge. I've also taught in a variety of settings including online, in person, group, and one-on-one classes.
In addition, I also teach history, Spanish, and basketball. These are my passions. I have a bachelor's degree in history, a basketball coaching certificate, and I speak fluent Spanish. So if you want to take one of my classes in these subjects, please feel free. :)
Teaching Style
My style is dynamic with a variety of activities such as conversation games and activities, reading articles, watching YouTube videos, and even using music for vocabulary and grammar. More importantly, I customize my lessons for your own personal needs. My classes are for you, the student.
Credentials & Affiliations
I have a bachelor's degree in history with a minor in political science. I also have a 100 hour TEFL certificate. In addition, I've taught English at various institutions in Mexico including Prestige English, Master Executive English, and American House of Languages. I've also taught English, history, and Spanish online on cafetalk.com. I also coached basketball for six years at Patriot Elementary School in Bakersfield, CA.
