Fiber Arts

About

I originally studied fashion design in Tokyo, where I was raised, and worked as a costumer before I started to make fiberart. My work is a mixture of fiber techniques and book arts techniques. They are in collections at many universities, such asYale, Princeton, and SDAC, and have been exhibited across the US and Europe. I was commissioned to make artworkwith jeans by Levi’s, which are now in their archive. I was invited to hold an exhibition and do an installation at the showwindow of L’Entropiste, a perfume shop in Paris, in 2025. I hold a BA in studio art from East Tennessee State University.I have taught costume-making classes with the American Ballet Theater in New York to students in grades 2-12. Also, Ihave taught workshops at Vanderbilt University and the Frist Museum in Nashville, TN.
