About

Hello! I’m Yasmin, a music educator dedicated to helping students truly understand and connect with music. I hold a BA and an MA in Music Pedagogy from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (Kodály Institute) and bring over 10 years of experience teaching music to all ages, from young children to university students. Whether you are a beginner wanting to discover the basics or an advanced student preparing for a major milestone, I am here to support your musical journey.

Teaching Style

I customize every lesson to match your specific goals, ensuring a pace that helps you develop best. My main goal is to help you reach your personal music milestones while giving you the confidence to think and practice independently. I believe learning music should feel empowering rather than intimidating, so I maintain a supportive, encouraging environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and tracking your progress.

Curriculum

I use practical, active methods based on the internationally respected Kodály Method to make complex concepts easy to grasp, moving away from dry lecturing.

Depending on your specific goals, we can focus on:

  • Sight-singing & Pitch: Mastering sight-singing and learning to sing in tune.

  • Ear Training & Musicianship: Developing your music listening and practical skills.

  • Theory & Harmony: Building solid, functional confidence in music theory.

  • Exam & Audition Prep: Targeted preparation for ABRSM exams (written and oral) or conservatory entrance auditions.

Recommended Texts & Materials: I select and adapt materials dynamically based on your level. Lessons frequently utilize core Kodály methodology resources alongside official ABRSM theory and sight-singing workbooks. To ensure a well-rounded education, I also incorporate teaching materials drawn directly from the classical world repertoire and known composers.
