About

I have over 10 years of piano teaching experience, working with children, teens, and adults at all skill levels. From 2018 to 2024, I taught at several music academies throughout the San Jose and Sunnyvale area, including Amade Music School, Sanatrisam Music & Dance Academy, Guitar Center, Guitar Showcase, and The California Conservatory of Music. Since 2025, I have focused on private one-on-one instruction through my independent piano studio.

My background combines formal music education with extensive teaching and performance experience. As a pianist, I have performed at weddings, corporate and private events, school functions, and community events, as well as organized and participated in live music productions.

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual goals, interests, and learning style. Whether you are a complete beginner, returning to piano after a break, or looking to advance your skills, my approach combines clear guidance, patience, strong technical foundations, and practical exercises to help you make steady progress while developing confidence and a genuine enjoyment of music.

Teaching Style

I believe learning the piano should be both rewarding and inspiring. My lessons are thoughtfully structured to help students build a strong technical foundation while developing confidence, musical expression, and independent learning skills. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I adapt each lesson to the student's goals, experience, pace, and interests. I encourage curiosity, consistent progress, and attention to detail in a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves. Whether you are taking your very first lesson or returning to the piano after years away, my goal is to help you become a confident and expressive musician while enjoying the learning process.

Curriculum

My teaching combines technical development, sight-reading, music theory, ear training, rhythm, and engaging repertoire in a clear, step-by-step approach. I believe students learn best when lessons are both enjoyable and purposeful, so I create a positive, encouraging environment where they feel motivated to learn and celebrate their progress. For beginners, I primarily use Alfred's Basic Piano Library, together with carefully selected pieces and exercises that match each student's age, level, and musical interests.
