Hi! I'm Fernando Plana — a pianist and piano teacher from Buenos Aires, Argentina, with over 15 years of experience.

What I love most is simple: helping someone sit at the piano and make music they truly enjoy — from a Chopin nocturne to a tango. Whether you're a complete beginner, an adult returning after years away, or an advanced student preparing repertoire, we'll build real skills at a pace that fits you.

To start, all you need is your piano or keyboard and a phone — I'll help you set up the rest so we see your hands clearly.

I'm a conservatory-trained pianist (Profesor Superior de Música, Gold Medal — top of my graduating class, "Astor Piazzolla" Conservatory) and I currently serve as that conservatory's Vice Director. I teach in both English and Spanish.

My lessons are structured but relaxed. We build solid technique from the first day — but always in the service of music you actually enjoy playing, never as an end in itself.

As a longtime ear-training teacher, I care as much about your ear as your fingers: understanding what you play, hearing it internally, and connecting theory to the keyboard in a natural, practical way.

Beginner, returning adult, or advanced student preparing repertoire — we'll set concrete goals together and design a clear path to reach them.

Online Lessons

Online teaching isn't an adaptation for me — it's my specialty. My conservatory degree includes a formal focus in music technology, I taught Technology in Music Education at university level for over a decade, and I've published research on remote and hybrid teaching.

In practice, that means our lessons make full use of the format: clear audio, a camera angle right over the keyboard, digital materials, and recordings you can review between lessons.

I teach classical repertoire from Baroque to contemporary — and I'd also love to introduce you to the piano music of my country: tango and Argentine styles that open up rhythm, expression, and a whole new world at the keyboard.
