Ting Chang

Ting Chang is a clarinetist and educator dedicated to both performance and teaching. She currently serves as a Teaching Assistant in both clarinet and chamber music at Boston University, where she coaches chamber ensembles and provides individualized instruction to undergraduate students. In addition to her university teaching, she maintains an active private studio in the Boston area, working with students of various ages and skill levels.

As a performer, Ting is the principal clarinetist of the Boston Civic Symphony and has performed with the Cape Ann Symphony, the Boston Annex Player, and the Bristol Chorale and Chamber Orchestra of Massachusetts. She has also served as principal clarinetist of the Boston University Symphony Orchestra, the Indiana University Philharmonic and Conductors Orchestras, and the National Taiwan Normal University Orchestra.

Ting has received recognition in both international and national competitions, including Second Prize at the Buffet Crampon Clarinet Competition, multiple awards at Taiwan's National Student Competition of Music, and Third Prize at the Boston University Chamber Music Competition. During the summer, she participated in prestigious music festivals, including Festival Napa Valley, where she attended on a full scholarship.

Dedicated to both performance and education, Ting continues to inspire students and audiences through her artistry, passion, and commitment to musical excellence. Her teaching philosophy centers on adapting her teaching style to each student's individual needs and goals while helping them build confidence and enjoy the process of making music.

Ting Chang is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Woodwind Performance at Boston University, where she studies with Robert Patterson. She earned her Master of Music degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under Eli Eban and her Bachelor of Music degree from National Taiwan Normal University, where she studied with Wei-Leng William Chen.

Her teaching philosophy centers on adapting her teaching style to each student's individual needs and goals while helping them build confidence and enjoy the process of making music.
