Kristopher Gottlieb
About
Music is more than notes — it’s connection, confidence, and creativity. That’s what I bring to every lesson. I am Kristopher Gottlieb, a guitarist, vocalist, and music creator with over fifteen years of professional experience. From 2012 to 2022, I toured across the United States with the professional band CBDB, performing in numerous cities and festivals nationwide.
Since 2022, I have focused on teaching and developing independent recording projects, continuing to share my expertise through Lowkey Harmony Studio and online lessons.
I specialize in electric guitar and lead guitar performance, with professional expertise in improvisation and stage work. In addition, I am highly proficient in chordal accompaniment for solo singing, and I teach across multiple instruments including acoustic guitar, bass, and ukulele. My recording and production background includes founding CBDB LLC, producing studio albums and live recordings, and creating original lofi and improvisation projects published on YouTube. Currently, I am developing new collaborative projects that combine songwriting, recording, and performance coaching, aimed at helping students not only play but also produce their own music.
Alongside performing and recording, I have dedicated more than a decade to teaching. I taught guitar, voice, and theory at Treble Makers Music Studio in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (2009–2017), continued at 601 Studios in Jackson, Mississippi (2023), and now teach online for international students. My teaching combines technical skill, creativity, and performance coaching, helping students grow as confident musicians.
I am passionate about guiding students to discover their own musical voice. Whether you are starting with basic chords, exploring songwriting, or preparing for live performance, I bring patience, energy, and professional insight to every lesson.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is highly adaptive and student‑focused. I customize each lesson to fit the student’s goals, whether they want to learn basic chords for singing, explore improvisation on electric guitar, or develop songwriting and recording skills. With professional expertise in lead guitar, rhythm accompaniment, and multiple instruments including acoustic guitar, bass, and ukulele, I bring a versatile approach that allows students to grow in the style of music they love.
I have experience working with students across diverse backgrounds and musical interests, from beginners discovering their first instrument to advanced players preparing for live performance. I adapt lessons to different genres — rock, pop, funk, folk, lofi, country, and more — while emphasizing technique, creativity, and confidence. My goal is to help each student find their own musical voice, while building the skills to perform and create with authenticity.
Curriculum
My teaching method emphasizes hands‑on practice, ear training, and performance readiness. I adapt lessons to each student’s goals, whether learning chords for singing, mastering lead guitar solos, or exploring songwriting. I often recommend the Hal Leonard Guitar Method for beginners, and provide custom exercises and chord charts for acoustic, bass, and ukulele. For more advanced students, I integrate improvisation studies, recording projects, and selected repertoire from genres such as rock, pop, funk, folk, lofi, and country.
