Classical Technique Vocal
Ricardo teaches classical foundation specialising in “Bel Canto” (Beautiful singing) which can be applied to most genres in order to develop “safe” habits and expand range in both directions, as well as increasing control and reliability and developing harmonics in order to build the voca iinstrument. Also introduction to piano concepts/orientation.
Ricardo has been trained in Sydney (Cert IV in Musical Theatre)
Film acting (Participate Film Academy – Australian Technology Park)
And has also studied under Dr Graham Clark (Melbourne)
He has worked with youth choirs in Sydney, assisted teaching on the Gold Coast and tutored privately in Melbourne.
Career highlights have included international Cruise Ship performances, Sydney opera house choral and SBS youth choir member.
Teaching Style
My approach sees each individual student catered to their particular level of skill and comprehension of vocal production, paying particular attention to habits that may have hindered development previously. I ensure that my students are always in a safe learning environment decreasing the possiblity of feeling overwhelmed or intimidated.
Lessons are fun, creative and thoughtful.
Curriculum
My method focuses on utilising the fundamentals of Bel Canto, albeit , the three pillars which are paramount to Bel Canto technique - Squillo - the bright ring essential to cutting through an orchestra safely.
Chiaroscuro - Light and Dark depth to the vocal instrument
and Appoggio - diaphragmatic support in breath management
This centuries old technique has been passed down from the Italian masters and is known to be the safest of all.
Through daily exercises, careful use of the voice and guidance, each student develops their own individual vocal instrument at their particular pace.
Generally development will take several years as the anatomy is rewired in order to achieve the complexities that are required to achieve this goals
