SUEHIRO SANAE
About
Hello! My name is Sanae, and I am an active professional opera singer and vocal coach from Japan.I teach Japanese anime songs, J-Pop, and Japanese art songs.
I have more than 15 years of teaching experience. For many years, I taught J-Pop and anime songs at voice actor and talent training schools in Japan.
Now I teach at my own music school, where I teach vocal training, J-Pop, classical singing, and Japanese songs. I help students improve their voices, Japanese pronunciation, pitch, rhythm, and expression. I also help students understand the meaning of lyrics and sing Japanese songs with confidence.
I enjoy teaching students of all levels, from beginners to experienced singers. My lessons are friendly, practical, and personalized to each student's goals.
I have experience teaching a variety of Japanese songs, including anime songs and J-Pop. Some examples of songs I have taught are:
- “Gurenge” from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
- “God knows...” from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
- “DAN DAN Kokoro Hikareteku” from Dragon Ball GT
- “Mayonaka no Door / Stay With Me” by Miki Matsubara
- “Ue o Muite Arukou (Sukiyaki)” by Kyu Sakamoto
I look forward to singing your favorite Japanese songs together!
Teaching Style
My teaching style is friendly, supportive, and focused on helping students sing Japanese songs with confidence.
In my lessons, I teach correct vocal techniques, breathing, pitch, rhythm, and pronunciation. Singing in Japanese can be challenging because Japanese has its own unique sounds and rhythm. I help students improve their Japanese pronunciation and learn how to sing Japanese songs naturally.
For anime songs, J-Pop, and other Japanese songs, I teach students how to understand the meaning of the lyrics and express the emotions of each song. I also help students improve their pitch and sing with a beautiful and healthy voice.
My goal is to help students enjoy Japanese music while developing their own unique voices.
Let's enjoy singing your favorite Japanese songs together!
Curriculum
In my lessons, students choose one Japanese song they would like to learn before the lesson. Please let me know the song you'd like to sing at least 24 hours before the lesson so I can prepare for you.
We work on the song together step by step. I help students with Japanese pronunciation, rhythm, pitch, breathing, vocal technique, and expression.
During the singing practice, students can sing with a karaoke track or an instrumental accompaniment. They can also sing a cappella without music. I give feedback and advice to help students improve their singing and enjoy the song more.
Students can choose songs from anime, J-Pop, Japanese pop songs, or other Japanese music they love.
Recommended materials:
- The song lyrics (with Japanese lyrics if available)
- A karaoke track or instrumental accompaniment
- The original song for reference
