Tina May-Ouahbi
About
Hi, I'm Tina.
I'm a professional vocal coach, music educator, singer, songwriter, and electronic live performer based in Dresden, Germany. I hold a First State Examination in Music from the University of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden, as well as a degree in Education, which has given me a strong pedagogical foundation for working with students of all ages and experience levels.
Throughout my artistic journey, I have had the privilege of studying with outstanding musicians and vocal teachers, including Céline Rudolph, Esther Kaiser, Judy Niemack, and Inéz from ÄTNA. I was also awarded a scholarship to work with the internationally renowned vocal ensemble New York Voices.
For more than eight years, I have been teaching singing while continuing to perform live as an artist. Together with my partner, I also run an independent music label and a nightclub in Dresden, Kashay Salon, where I work closely with live acts, bands, electronic performers, and artists from a wide range of musical backgrounds.
This combination of teaching, music education, and stage experience as a performing artist allows me to help my students develop not only as singers, but also as confident and expressive performers, preparing them for rehearsals, studio recordings, and the stage.
Teaching Style
Every voice is unique, which is why every lesson is tailored to your individual needs and goals.
Whether you're a complete beginner, an experienced singer, or someone who simply wants to feel more confident using their voice, we'll work together step by step in a supportive environment.
I strongly believe that mistakes are an essential part of learning. I built learning on curiosity, exploration, and growth. The best progress happens when you feel safe enough to experiment, ask questions, and enjoy the process.
My goal is not only to help you develop your voice, but to help you feel free in using it, find your own expression, and discover the art that is already within you.
Besides vocal coaching, I also teach:
- Music Theory
- Ear Training (Aural Skills)
- Beginner Piano
- Beginner Guitar
Curriculum
Over years of studying, performing, and teaching, I have learned that the voice is deeply connected to the body, breathing, posture, and self-awareness.
Rather than simply giving exercises to copy, I explain why each exercise works and how it affects your voice. Understanding the physiology of singing allows you to become more independent and to solve vocal challenges confidently on your own.
My lessons are tailored to your individual needs and goals, exploring different aspects of your voice, musicianship, and artistic expression, including:
- Healthy vocal technique
- Breath support and vocal control
- Expanding vocal range
- Tone and resonance
- Pitch accuracy
- Vocal freedom and confidence
- Performance skills
- Song interpretation
- Improvisation
- Songwriting and artistic development
My aim is to help you become an independent, expressive musician who trusts both your technique and your own creativity. Whether your goal is to perform on stage, record your own music, work on your vocal technique or simply sing with more confidence and joy, I'll be happy to support you on your journey.
