About
I am a French professional violinist and experienced violin teacher, combining more than 20 years of international performing experience with a strong commitment to teaching.
I graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMDP), where I was awarded First Prizes in Violin and Chamber Music.
Since 2003, I have been Concertmaster (Violon Solo) of the Orchestre Symphonique de Douai – Région Hauts-de-France, with which I regularly perform as a soloist.
My international orchestral career has also led me to perform as Guest Concertmaster and Guest Principal with European orchestras, including the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra in Denmark and the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a soloist and chamber musician, I have performed extensively in France and internationally.
I have also made several recordings, including the complete works for solo violin by leading contemporary French composer Nicolas Bacri, with whom I have developed a close artistic collaboration. This recording, released by Azur Classical, received 5 stars from Classica and 4 Diapasons.
Alongside my performing career, I have extensive experience teaching violin in French conservatories. I particularly enjoy working with motivated adult students and advanced violinists, as well as students preparing for higher musical studies, auditions and competitions.
My teaching focuses on developing a solid and natural violin technique, sound quality, musical interpretation, stylistic awareness and efficient practice methods. Each lesson is individually tailored to the student’s level, goals and repertoire.
Whether you wish to improve your technique, prepare an audition, explore the great violin repertoire or simply develop your playing at your own pace, I will be happy to help you progress.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is supportive, demanding and individually tailored to each student. I believe that technical development should always serve musical expression.
During lessons, we work on posture, freedom of movement, sound production, bow technique, intonation and left-hand technique, while developing phrasing, style and musical interpretation.
I place particular importance on understanding the individual needs of each student. Rather than applying the same method to everyone, I adapt exercises, repertoire and practice strategies according to the student’s level, objectives and personality.
For advanced students, I also draw on my professional experience as a Concertmaster, soloist and chamber musician to work in depth on orchestral excerpts, audition preparation, concert repertoire and performance skills.
My goal is to provide precise and constructive guidance while creating an encouraging atmosphere in which students can develop confidence, independence and their own musical personality.
Curriculum
My teaching method is individually adapted to each student’s level and goals. Technical work may include scales, arpeggios, double stops, bowing exercises and studies selected according to the student’s specific needs.
I use the major traditions of the French and European violin schools, with studies and technical material by Kreutzer, Mazas, Kayser, Dont, Fiorillo and Flesch, among others.
Repertoire is chosen according to the student’s level and objectives, from classical and romantic works to the major violin concertos, sonatas and contemporary repertoire.
For advanced and professional-level students, lessons can include intensive work on Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and other major repertoire, as well as orchestral excerpts and preparation for conservatory entrance examinations, competitions and professional auditions.
I also use score sharing and video analysis when useful, allowing us to examine technical and musical details between lessons and develop more effective practice strategies.
