About

Hi! My name is Sofi and I'm a singer, session vocalist and vocal coach from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have an Associate Degree in Music and Singing by the Manuel de Falla Conservatory and have taken numerous courses and workshops with Marcela Pietrokovsky, Carolina Roisinblit and argentinian speech therapists Ariel Aguirre and Elisa Viladesau. That's why my main area of knowledge is the human physiology and anatomy, and how to apply that to train the vocal chords to work in an efficient and healthy way.

I've been working for the past 5 years as a private singing teacher with students of all levels, both young and adult learners, children included! My main goal is to provide the student with tools that improve their understanding of how the voice works, and how to properly train it. I've achieved to make deaf-tone students completely able to match the pitch and stop straining their voice as they sing.

I currently sing in 2 music bands (Sidereo and Funky Fairlanes), both as background vocal and lead singer; shows include many famous bars of Buenos Aires (Gier, La dama de Bollini, El Emergente), and recording studio sessions for EP release.

Teaching Style

My lessons are flexible, relaxed and designed to make the student feel comfortable to connect with their own bodies and sensations. Body awareness is the basis of a solid vocal technique, so I encourage constant communication and guide the student through their senses to better connect with their vocal instrument.

Curriculum

I work with the Rabine Method or Functional Method of the Voice, based on the teachings of Eugene Rabine. His book "Keys to the Voice" is one of the fundamental texts in which the human anatomy and physiology take the stand as the basis of his method.
