About
I’m a professional singer, guitarist, composer, and music educator with a degree in Composition and extensive experience performing live internationally. I have over 14 years of live performance experience, including work as a solo singer-guitarist and musician on cruise ships, resorts, and other professional entertainment environments. I also have experience teaching students with different levels of experience and learning goals.
My teaching approach is practical, supportive, and tailored to each student. I believe lessons should be enjoyable while still giving you clear, measurable progress. Whether you are a complete beginner, an intermediate musician looking to improve, or an aspiring performer, I will adapt lessons to your individual goals, interests, and learning style.
I teach vocals, guitar, songwriting, composition, and singer-guitarist performance. I particularly enjoy helping students learn through songs they love while developing the skills and confidence to become independent musicians.
For singers, we can work on vocal technique, pitch, breathing, tone, range, confidence, interpretation, and performance skills. For guitarists, lessons can include chords, rhythm, fingerstyle, song accompaniment, repertoire, and playing while singing. For songwriting and composition students, I can help develop ideas into complete songs or compositions, including melody, harmony, structure, lyrics, arrangement, and musical development.
My goal is not simply to teach you a song or a technique, but to help you understand how music works and give you the tools and confidence to create and perform music independently.
Whether your goal is to learn an instrument for fun, become a better singer, write your own music, prepare for an audition, or develop as a professional performer, I would love to help you reach that next level.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is personalized, encouraging, and practical. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to their individual goals, experience, interests, and pace.
I like to make lessons engaging by using music that the student actually enjoys. Rather than following a rigid one-size-fits-all method, I combine practical exercises with songs and real-world performance techniques so that students can immediately apply what they are learning.
I focus on building both skill and confidence. For beginners, this means creating a comfortable environment where they can learn without feeling overwhelmed. For more experienced musicians, I can provide more detailed coaching to help refine technique, performance, songwriting, or musicianship.
As a professional performer and composer, I also bring a strong emphasis on musical expression and performance. I want students not only to learn the technical aspects of singing, guitar, or songwriting, but to develop their own musical identity and feel confident expressing themselves.
My lessons are supportive and relaxed, but I also encourage students to challenge themselves and set achievable goals. My aim is for every student to leave a lesson feeling that they have learned something useful and are one step closer to becoming the musician they want to be.
Curriculum
My teaching method is primarily student-led and goal-oriented. I tailor each lesson to the student’s current ability, musical interests, and personal goals. I combine practical exercises with songs, repertoire, and real-world performance techniques so that students can apply what they learn immediately.
For guitar and vocals, I focus on developing strong fundamentals while keeping lessons enjoyable and relevant to the student. Depending on their goals, lessons may include technique, repertoire, rhythm, vocal development, performance skills, songwriting, and creative exercises.
For songwriting and composition students, I use a project-based approach. We can develop original ideas together, work on melody, harmony, structure, lyrics, arrangement, and help turn an initial idea into a finished piece.
I do not require students to purchase a specific textbook. I provide or recommend appropriate materials based on each student's level and goals. Where useful, I may provide exercises, song resources, practice material, and personalized assignments for students to work on between lessons.
Students are welcome to bring songs or musical ideas they are currently interested in, and I encourage them to take an active role in choosing what they want to learn.
