Dominic Sinicrope

Dominic Sinicrope is an Italian-American trumpeter whose artistic work encompasses orchestral performance, conducting, and the rediscovery of forgotten trumpet repertoire. Currently studying at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste with Immanuel Richter, Dominic holds a BM in Brass Studies from NYU Steinhardt studying with Charlie Porter and Wayne du Maine. In New York, Dominic was a member of the Grammy Award-winning New York Youth Symphony and performed throughout the Tri-State area alongside distinguished trumpet artists including Chris Gekker, Billy Hunter, and Nathan Clark. His professional work has included ensembles such as Opera Italiana is in the Air, the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, West Side Chamber Players, and PROTESTRA. At NYU, Dominic founded and conducted the first student-led chamber orchestra of its kind while studying conducting with Ted Sperling of MASTERVOICES and Andrew Kim of the New York Youth Symphony. His artistic interests include expanding the solo trumpet repertoire through innovative approaches to recorded and visual performance.

My teaching style is heavily inspired by my teacher during my undergraduate studies, Charlie Porter. I enjoy getting into the specific details and mechanics of trumpet playing that many teachers do not prefer to teach and know less about how to teach. But I have also worked alongside a large cast of trumpeters throughout my studies and bring a little bit of their instruction with me wherever I go. 

I prefer to keep my studio on the smaller side, and to truly get to know my students on a personal level! Before we work together, I highly encourage you to have a free 30 min trial with me and we can get to know each other and learn to understand your goals on the instrument. I also have a few required texts and tools, so we can discuss equipment a bit before continuing on.
