Cinmaya Ferrara

Cinmaya Ferrara is Principal Clarinet of the Symphony Orchestra of the Estonian National Theatre Vanemuine in Tartu, a position he has held since July 2025. He regularly performs the operatic and symphonic repertoire in Estonia and across the Baltic countries.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated as both principal and second clarinet with several renowned Italian orchestras, including the Philharmonic and Orchestra of Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Orchestra Haydn of Bolzano, Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini, and Orchestra da Camera di Perugia. From 2023 to 2025, he served as Principal Clarinet of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Italian Conservatories.

Alongside his orchestral activity, he is an active chamber musician, performing in festivals and concert series with repertoire ranging from Mozart and Beethoven to Brahms and Mendelssohn. He graduated with highest honours, distinction and honourable mention from the Conservatory of Modena in 2025, where he studied with Corrado Giuffredi and Anna Maria Giaquinta.

My teaching approach is rooted in attention to detail, technical clarity, and musical expression. I believe that a solid and clean technique, together with a natural and efficient air support, provides the foundation for expressing musical ideas with freedom, fluidity, and transparency; without allowing the instrument to become a barrier between the musician and the music.

Alongside technical development, I place strong emphasis on musicality, phrasing, sound quality, and stylistic awareness, drawing on the traditions of the symphonic, orchestral, operatic, and chamber music repertoire. My goal is to help each student develop a reliable technical foundation while finding their own voice, allowing technique to become a means of greater freedom, confidence, and authentic musical communication.
