Patrice George
About
Patrice George was an Associate Professor in Textile Development and Marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Her specialties are dobby and jacquard wovens, computer-aided design, and textile history. She is currently an advisor to students in Parsons MFA Textile program, and a frequent presenter at textile seminars, and a presenter to weaver’s guilds across the country.
Her NYC studio, Patrice George Designs, specializes in design for dobby and jacquard woven textiles for the interior textiles.
She has also been a consultant to handweaving projects sponsored by UNIDO, CARE, and other NGOs in Jamaica, Laos, and Mexico.
Education: BA from the University of Michigan, History of Art, 1970.
