About

About Me

Hello! I am a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator with more than 20 years of experience in helping students build their true musical confidence.

My musical journey is anchored by a degree from the world-renowned Berklee College of Music, alongside being named a Grand Prize Winner by the legendary Smashing Pumpkins in the global music contest they held. As a contemporary artist, I specialize in looking at music holistically. Under the persona Mighty One Man Band, I routinely arrange, produce, and execute full sonic arrangements by performing multiple instruments at the same time.

I bring this same multi-dimensional, creative energy into my online teaching studio. Whether you want to master a specific instrument, learn how to arrange music like a full band or full orchestra, or dive deep into advanced academic principles, I tailor every lesson to your unique artistic voice.

My Approach to Teaching

I do not believe in rigid, cookie-cutter music lessons or fragmented internet tutorials. My teaching style is highly personalized, goal-oriented, and structured around your direct musical aspirations.

When you study in my studio, we focus on three core pillars:

  • Technical Mastery: Breaking through physical plateaus on your instrument with efficient, professional mechanics.
  • Creative Sovereignty: Learning music theory, songwriting, and orchestration so you can confidently create your own music.
  • Premium Technical Setup: To ensure our online sessions are seamless, my remote studio uses a professional audio interface, high-end microphones, and optimized high-fidelity audio streaming. It will sound as clear as if we are sitting in the exact same room.

Specialized Learning Tracks Available:

  • The Foundation & Breakthrough Track (Beginner to Intermediate): Perfect for those picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to break past a frustrating learning plateau. We will strip away confusing jargon and focus on fun, highly rewarding milestones—building correct physical habits, learning your favorite songs, reading basic charts, and establishing rock-solid timing from day one.
  • The Virtuoso Instrument Track (Advanced): High-tier, focused technical training and advanced improvisation in Jazz Piano, Electric/Acoustic Guitar, Drums, or Voice.
  • The Conservatory & University Prep Accelerator: Intensive mentorship in advanced music theory, ear training, arranging, and direct preparation for elite music school auditions.
  • The One-Man Band Track: Learn to coordinate multiple instruments, lock in timing synchronization, and command a solo stage presence.

I look forward to helping you unlock your ultimate musical potential. Book a session today, and let's get started right here on Lessonface!

Teaching Style

Teaching Style

My teaching style is dynamic, encouraging, and highly collaborative. I combine the high-level musical frameworks I learned at Berklee College of Music with a practical, modern approach that gets you playing and creating from your very first session.

I treat our lessons as a professional partnership rather than a rigid lecture. Here is what you can expect in my studio:

  • Tailored Optimization: No cookie-cutter methods. We focus strictly on the music, techniques, and concepts that match your unique goals and artistic voice.
  • Instant Action & Clarity: I break down complex musical theory and technical concepts into simple, easily digestible building blocks. Every lesson ends with clear, actionable items so you know exactly what to practice.
  • Studio-Grade Delivery: I teach using a premium audio interface and high-fidelity audio streaming. You will hear every note with studio clarity, making remote learning seamless and interactive.

Whether you are an absolute beginner strumming your first chord or a seasoned player mastering advanced improvisation, my room is a supportive, high-energy environment built to fast-track your progress.

Curriculum

Teaching Method

My method is centered on Holistic Musicianship. I don't just teach you how to mechanically replicate notes; I teach you how to understand the underlying structure of what you are playing so you can eventually improvise, arrange, and create your own music if you aspire to do so.

We integrate three primary components into every session:

  • The Core Mechanics: Developing efficient physical habits, ergonomics, and muscle memory to ensure playing feels fluid and tension-free.
  • Ear Training & Theory Application: Translating abstract concepts into practical patterns directly onto your instrument.
  • Modern Tech Integration: For intermediate and advanced students, we explore live tracking, equipment utilizing, and even multi-instrumental coordination to turn you into a self-sufficient solo or ensemble performer.

Recommended Student Texts & Materials

Because I teach a wide variety of instruments and skill levels, materials are entirely customized to the student. We draw from the following framework:

For Beginners & Intermediate Core Study

  • Guitar: Hal Leonard Guitar Method (Books 1–3) or A Modern Method for Guitar by William Leavitt (Berklee Press) for foundational note reading and technique.
  • Piano: Faber Piano Adventures (Accelerated or Adult series) for structural, highly rewarding classic-to-contemporary learning progress.
  • Drums: Progressive Steps to Syncopation for the Modern Drummer by Ted Reed for rock-solid, rhythm-learning journey.

For Advanced, Theory, & Specialized Study

  • Music Theory & Arranging: Berklee Music Theory (Book 1 & 2) by Paul Schmeling.
  • Jazz & Improvisation: The Jazz Piano Book by Mark Levine or Chord Tone Soloing for guitarists.
  • Custom Digital Materials: I provide tailored PDF charts, custom MIDI backing tracks, and notation files directly through our Lessonface dashboard for your practice between sessions.
