Cristian Moriggia
About
Hi! I'm Cristian, a guitarist, vocalist, music producer, and audio engineer from Argentina, specializing in rock, hard rock, and heavy metal.
Music has been a central part of my life for years, both on stage and behind the mixing console. I'm the lead guitarist, vocalist, and producer of Atómica 235, a thrash metal band, and I've worked extensively with recording, arranging, editing, and producing music.
My academic background includes formal training in Sound Engineering and Music Production, and a degree in Sound Creation at the University of Palermo in Buenos Aires. I've also worked as a university teaching assistant and have experience teaching guitar in community educational programs.
These experiences have shaped the way I understand music: not simply as a collection of techniques or exercises, but as a combination of creativity, discipline, expression, and communication.
Teaching Style
I believe learning an instrument should be challenging, rewarding, and, above all, enjoyable.
Every student has different goals. Some want to play their favorite songs, others want to write their own music, and some dream of performing on stage or recording an album.
My job is to help you get there.
Rather than following a rigid, one-size-fits-all curriculum, I adapt my lessons to each student's musical interests, experience, and learning pace.
I emphasize understanding why something works, not just memorizing how to play it. Whether we're discussing guitar technique, rhythm, harmony, or music theory, I want my students to develop the tools to make their own musical decisions.
Curriculum
My teaching approach combines practical musicianship, technical development, and music theory, with an emphasis on understanding how and why music works.
I believe that every student learns differently, so I develop personalized lessons based on their experience, interests, and goals. Whether you're a complete beginner or an intermediate guitarist looking to improve your technique, we'll work together to identify your strengths, address difficulties, and establish a productive practice routine.
My lessons generally focus on four areas:
1. Technique and Coordination
Developing proper picking and fretting techniques, synchronization between both hands, articulation, alternate picking, legato, string muting, and overall playing accuracy.
2. Rhythm and Musical Understanding
Learning to develop a solid sense of timing, understand rhythmic subdivisions, practice effectively with a metronome, and apply music theory to real musical situations.
3. Repertoire and Musical Expression
Studying songs and guitar parts that interest the student while exploring phrasing, dynamics, improvisation, and interpretation.
4. Performance and Recording
Drawing from my professional audio engineering and music production experience, I help students understand how their playing translates into recordings and live performances.
I encourage students to record themselves, critically evaluate their performances, and understand the relationship between technique and musical expression.
