About

My name is Pavle Čanić, and I am a violin teacher and orchestra conductor from Serbia. I hold both a bachelor's and a master's degree from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.

I began my teaching career in 2017 as a violin teacher at the Živorad Grbić Music School in Valjevo, Serbia, where I continue to teach students at both elementary and secondary levels. Since 2022, I have also conducted the school's elementary-level string orchestra, and since 2024, I have been leading a string ensemble at the Abrašević Center for Traditional Culture and Art in Valjevo.

Throughout my musical career, I have continued to develop my skills through masterclasses with distinguished musicians and educators, including Marko Josifoski, Orfej Simić, Vladimir Marković, Monika Skalar, and Mihal Budinski.

In 2023, I received the award for Outstanding Music Educator at the international Zlatne stepenice competition.

I offer violin lessons in both English and Serbian for students of all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced players.

Whether you are picking up the violin for the first time, returning to the instrument after a break, or looking to refine your technique and musical expression, I would be happy to help you achieve your goals and enjoy your musical journey.

Teaching Style

My teaching approach is tailored to each student's individual needs, goals, and learning pace. I focus on developing solid technique, musical understanding, confidence, and expressive playing while helping students build a genuine love for music.
During lessons, I focus on developing proper violin technique, posture, bow control, intonation, rhythm, music reading, and musical expression. I believe that a strong technical foundation, combined with creativity and enjoyment, is essential for long-term progress.

Curriculum

For beginners, I provide step-by-step guidance to help them build confidence and develop healthy playing habits from the start. For intermediate and advanced students, I focus on refining technique, improving sound quality, exploring musical interpretation, and preparing repertoire according to their individual goals.

I select teaching materials and repertoire based on each student's needs and level. Depending on the student's experience, lessons may include methods and studies by Ševčík, Wohlfahrt, Kayser, and Kreutzer, as well as scales, technical exercises, and pieces from a variety of musical periods.

Students do not need to purchase any specific books before their first lesson. I will recommend suitable materials based on their current level and learning objectives.
