Wolfgang Mozart

With nearly 300 years of teaching experience and over individual 600 composed works, I enjoy fostering creativity, want to help you be your best in either piano or songwriting, and am great for students interested in a highly-rigorous individualized environment.

I'm on the self-taught side of things beginning at the age of 4 and always being influenced by curiosity, harmony, and grandeur. I started composing after noticing patterns while plucking around on the piano and violin which led to a career as a court musician in Salzburg. Wanting to focus more on composition, I began freelancing, writing pieces such as "Ein Kline Van Nacht Musik" and "Queen of the Night."

I've been proud of a number of my students and mentees (formal or otherwise) such as Hummel, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky.

I specialize in classical music and have some experience with jazz. Specifically, I teach piano and songwriting within these repertoire. My areas of expertise:

Piano

• building fundamental techniques
• applying these skills to playing with large orchestras and symphonies
• following a conductor
• reading music in orchestra-style scores

Songwriting

• classical music with multiple movements
• integrating multiple sections of instruments
• instrumental music (sorry, vocalists)

In terms of my approach to teaching, I'm a pretty rigorous guy that has high expectations for myself and my students. I work best with students that are on a serious professional track that have at least 120 minutes of practice time a day (the more the better). Causal players might find my pace to be offputting. For songwriting, you'll want to have a solid foundation of songs and scores already composed and I'll help you go from good to great; I do not offer songwriting lessons to beginners.
