Chris Rowan
About
Chris has over 15 years of performance experience in a wide variety of groups, ranging from his current Hard Rock Band Travesty, old metal band STRATOS, to acoustic performances to punk and ska bands, rock cover groups, big bands, jazz combos and many others. He has been playing guitar for 17 years, bass guitar for 12 years and performing vocals for 10 years. He has taught students ages 6-66, at all levels of ability over the course of 11 years.
He has studied at The Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology (OIART) and has worked as a roadie, live sound technician, luthier, event booker/promoter, guitar technician and audio recording engineer. This range of knowledge allows for him to cover many areas of instruction and many genres of interest, and gives him the ability to better translate musical techniques and theories in his lessons.
Teaching Style
Chris offers a fully customized lesson plan with curriculum based in knowledge and application of the theoretical and technical aspects of playing and singing, as well as a focus on developing a kinship with your instrument or voice and the ability to translate your ideas into music.
Curriculum
Every lesson I teach is 100% fully customized and unique to every individual student's needs.
