For nearly a decade now I've taught private lessons in composition, audio production, piano, and voice. For half of that time I've also been music directing and teaching in a classroom setting at the Columbia Gorge School of Theatre in Portland, OR. I've written extensively for more than a dozen films, documentaries, and TV shows, several plays and musicals, and both professional and student ensembles. My music has been performed throughout the US and abroad, and I have performed with various choral groups touring Ireland, London, and performing on-stage at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in NYC. I am currently only accepting students in composition. Apologies for any inconvenience.
I place an emphasis on student lead creativity and following their own unique voice while within the framework of a solid theoretical foundation. I value analysis and critical listening, while encouraging all students to explore and have fun!

I recommend all students have access to pencils and manuscript paper, regardless of type of lesson taught. Textbooks are expensive, so I try to avoid using them where I can, favoring my own worksheets and online resources. That said, if a student is particularly inclined, I have many recommended readings.
