Hello! I am Mary Jeane  Egloso, a professional soprano and a Certified Kodály Music Teacher from the Philippines. My friends, call me "MJ".   I have been teaching both in studio and classroom setting focusing on teaching piano, voice, music theory, ukulele and choral singing since 2015. I have been teaching one-on-one lessons to children age six and above providing them personalized Kodály based music programs focusing on the development of their musical skills and enjoyment. I am very well- experienced in producing music recitals since 2007.

Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I strongly believe that music has the power to change lives – to enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression.  My empathy and my interpersonal skills enable me to freely discuss any matter of concern with both students and parents of diverse social and cultural backgrounds. I believe this is a role to which I could bring great value, exercising and broadening my music teaching experience, and helping students develop their talents while nurturing their passion for music.

MJ Eglos am Mary Jeane V. Egloso, a professional soprano and a Certified Kodály Music Teacher from the Philippines and it is with great interest that I am applying for the Music Teaching position currently available with the Kreis Music Entertainment. I have been teaching both in studio and classroom setting focusing on teaching piano, voice, music theory, ukulele and choral singing since 2015. is both a soprano and a certified Kodály music educator. She received her Certificate of Teaching Music with Kodály Emphasis last May 03, 2019 after having completed three-summer course in Musicianship, Methodology and Conducting with the Kodály Society of the Philippines. She studied Kodály methodology under Prof. Carolyn Cheng, Prof. Daisy Marasigan, musicianship and conducting under Kodály specialists from Hungary, Judith Hartyanyi, Réka Csernyik, and Dr. Árpád Tóth.  She is a consistent academic and artistic awardee and a recipient of the Makiling Academic and Research Institute for the Arts (MARIA) Scholarship awarded by the Cultural Center of the Philippines, UP College of Music Extension Program Scholarship and the PWU School of Music Grants and Scholarship. She graduated from the Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) with high honors. She obtained her Bachelor of Music in Voice cum laude from the University of the Philippines College of Music under Prof. Cecilia O. Valeña.  She finished her Masters in Music Performance majoring in Voice with high distinction under the tutelage of Prof. Katherine Frances Molina at the Philippine Women's University School of Music.

“MJ” as she is fondly called by family and friends, is a highly-experienced performer, chorister and teacher. She has actively participated in numerous concerts, both here and abroad, as a soloist or as a chorister. Upon earning her bachelor’s degree, she joined the internationally-acclaimed Philippine Madrigal Singers (MADZ) and toured with the group in the USA (2013), South America (2013), Hongkong (2014), Singapore (2014), South Korea (2014) and Europe (2014). She was also a member of the Asian Youth Choir in 2010 and was the only Filipino soprano delegate of the first batch of the Asia Pacific Youth Choir in 2011 and 2018 which performed in various concert halls in China. She is the only Philippine representative to the 8th Japan Choral Association Youth Choir which was held last March 12 to 16, 2019 at Yamanashi, Japan. She was invited to sing with the Asia Pacific Youth Choir to perform at the International Youth Music Festival 2019 and Asia Pacific Summit 2019 in Macau and Hongkong last July 17 to 25, 2019.

MJ is a former voice teacher of the Ryan Cayabyab Music School. She is a member and one of the incorporators of the Eastern Visayas Choral Association (EVCA) as well as a bonafide member of the Philippine Society for Music Education (PSME) and the Kodály Society of the Philippines. Last May 28, 2015, she was appointed as a technical expert of the CHED Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) in Region VIII for the Humanities, Social Sciences and Communication Education as a professional expert. In 2016, she was awarded the provincial Sangguniang Kabataan Youth Award in Music Performance and the Sangyaw Award in Music Performance.

Determined to share her expertise and wealth of experiences in music, she regularly conducts music workshops in provincial areas and in Metro Manila. She is currently based in Tacloban City, where she offers classes in voice, piano, music theory, ukulele and vocal ensemble singing to kids and adults. She taught music at the Bethel International School in Pawing, Palo, Leyte, and the Leyte Normal University (LNU). She is the founder and conductor of an independent community-based choir in Tacloban City, the Sinirangan Chamber Singers.
