About

Born in Setúbal, Portugal, in 1991. 

Started his musical studies at the age of 10 in Palmela at the Sociedade Filarmónica Humanitária. 

He has studied with many teachers in several schools. In 2000 he studied with teacher Ângelo Caleira in Escola de Música da Sociedade Filarmónica Humanitária (Music School of Sociedade Filarmónica Humanitária). In 2006 he continued his studies at the Conservatório Regional de Palmela (Regional Conservatory of Palmela) with teacher João Letras. Two years later he continued his studies in Lisbon, with teacher Armando Martins at the Escola Profissional Metropolitana (Metropolitana Professional Music School) concluding it with a grade of 16/20.  

He has participated in several master classes and improvement courses given by names such as Hermann Baumann, Froydis Ree Wekre, Radovan Vlatkovic, Ab Koster, Fergus McWilliam, Abel Pereira, Javier Bonnet, J. Bernardo Silva, Paulo Guerreiro, Nuno Vaz, Carsten Duffin, Gabriel Amarú, Luís Vieira, Ricardo Matosinhos, Filipe Abreu, Jonathan Luxton, Andrew Sutton, Ângelo Caleira, Armando Martins and "Onix Brass - Brass Quintet". 

In 2009 he participated in the Prémio Jovens Músicos - RDP/ ANTENA 2 competition where he was semi-finalist in french horn category, intermediate level. 

He did public presentations and collaborated with several different formations such as: Orquestra de Sopros da Escola Profissional Metropolitana (Metropolitana Professional School Wind Orchestra), Orquestra Académica Metropolitana (Metropolitana Academic Orchestra), Brass Ensemble Metropolitana, Orquestra de Sopros Metropolitana (Metropolitana Wind Orchestra), Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil (Symphonic Youth Orchestra), Gulbenkian’s Stage for Orchestra, Lisbon Film Orchestra, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa, Orquestra Clássica do Sul, Orquestra de Câmara Cascais e Oeiras and Orquestra Sinfónica Metropolitana. He also worked with important conductors like Michael Zilm, Emilio Pomarico, Jean-Sebastian Béreau, Jean-Marc Burfin, Eivind Gullberg Jensen, Kazushi Ono, Christopher Bochmann, Sebastian Twinkle, Joana Carneiro, Pedro Neves, Pedro Carneiro,Jorge Salgueiro, Pedro Neves, Reinaldo Guerreiro, Alberto Roque, José Eduardo Gomes and others, and important solists like António Rosado, Bertrand Chamayou, Chloë Hanslip, Nuno Silva, Filipe Alves, Afonso Fesh, Patrycja Gabrel, Raquel Camarinha, Teresa Pereira and others.  

In 2011/2012 he studied with professor Abel Pereira at the Conservatório de Música da Metropolitana (Metropolitana Music Conservatory). In 2016, he concluded the bachelor with professor Nuno Vaz at the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra (National Superior Academy of Orchestra). 

Since 2010 he is a member of the Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil (Symphonic Youth Orchestra) where he is a horn section chef. He received, in the last three consecutive years, a scholarship from “Foundation E.D.P/ Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil” (Symphonic Youth Orchestra) and in the last year he won a scholarship from “SLEM - Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil”. With this Orchestra he did solo performances of the "Concerto n°2 for Horn and Orchestra" and the"Concerto n°3 for Horn and Orchestra" from W. A. Mozart.

In 2016 is selected to “Gulbenkian’s Stage for Orchestra” (EGO - “Estágio Gulbenkian para Orquestra”).

In 2018 is selected to “Mediterranean Youth Orchestra”.

He is currently taking master’s degree in Music Education at Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa - ESML with professor Paulo Guerreiro.

I like to approach and work in a relaxed environment and always try to help the student to overcome obstacles and achieve goals.

Working on technical aspects and helping students to understand and make it simple is something I like to share with my students and consequently see them evolve.
