Rich Degnars or “Mr. Rich,” as referred to by many of his students, is a performing drummer, educator, recording artist and music producer. He currently performs regularly around his hometown of Wilmington DE. He’ll go as far as his van can take him! (For the right compensation of course). Currently, Rich can be found rockin’ the stage with the band Chorduroy (party-‐rock-‐dance-‐corporate-‐fun).
Since receiving his Bachelor of Music from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Rich has taught a multitude of students from 5 years of age and up. He covers every aspect of foundation including technique, reading, counting rhythms, and playing different styles of music. He can help with passing auditions or simply passing the time with online drum lessons.
For over 25 years, Rich has been providing private drum instruction to people of all ages and skill levels. He delivers the highest quality lessons beginning with a solid foundation in technique and reading as well as playing songs.
Not every student learns the same way. Drum lessons from Rich are individualized and catered towards the students needs. There is an endless supply of drum instruction on the internet and it is encouraged to explore and learn from many sources. One thing, however, you can’t get from watching videos is constructive critique. Many times a student will be playing something incorrectly or out of time and not realize what they’re doing wrong and how to fix it. Enter private drum lessons with Rich Degnars. He will guide you in a positive manor that builds skills as well as confidence.
Throughout his many years of teaching, Rich has created a method that involves specific books as well as numerous practice sheets written by Rich himself. The exercises found in these sheets are the result of years of teaching and have been designed for learning rhythm and how to apply it to the drum set.
