Barthold Kuijken

Kuijken is a Belgian flutist and recorder player. He is especially known for playing baroque music on authentic instruments. He studied the modern flute at the Burges Conservatory and the Royal Conservatories of Brussels and The Hague. Kuijken played in baroque orchestras Collegium Aureum and La Petite Bande. He continues to perform in chamber music concerts world wide, playing repertoire from early 19th-century music. 

He teaches baroque flute at the Royal Conservatories of Brussels and The Hague. Kuijken also obtained the first doctorate in music in Belgium in 2007.
