Teaching Style
I have been teaching since I was a sophomore in High school still taking lessons myself. I love teaching adults and children alike. When I discover the particular strengths and favorite music genres of my students, this allows me to tailor the lessons to them individually.
Curriculum
I use the Bastien Series of books because these cover all of the basics and encourage sight reading from the beginning. I also strive to get the student into an Easy Piano version of one of their favorite songs as soon as possible in order to encourage them in their learning process. Utilization of flash cards enables the student to be able to excel in note identification from lesson 1.
Credentials & Affiliations
I have done many years of volunteer teaching in Haiti. This has been a tremendous privilege and learning experience for me. It has rounded out my ability to see each person as a unique opportunity to train for them to reach their fullest potentials.
