I started playing saxophone when I was in the high school and since then music has been my life. I studied music production and technology and made my masters in music education.
Music is something that moves me deeply and motivates me to achieve more. At the same time it refocuses me into the present moment. I love it...
Teaching Style
Currently I am living in Porto, Portugal. I'm preparing to release an album with my band Fat Spoon and in the meantime I give private saxophone classes and music production.
Last year in 2019 I spent almost all my time living in Guiné-Bissau where I played with many different artists producing, playing in festivals and on other big stages there. A fun fact, I was the only professional saxophone player in the country, sweet... So I gave masterclasses, workshops, I had young students, old students, professional students...
It was also a time for me to develop my skills, musically speaking, with all the african rhythmic approach. Pedagogically, socially...
Definitely an amazing experience that I will be glad to share with you... ;)
Before that I worked at a private school in Porto giving classes in music education to the 5th and the 6th grade. One of my big achievements there was changing the main instrument from flute to ukulele, and I have to say that preparing the Christmas parties was tough, but fulfilling.
During all this time I have been working has a freelancer, has a music performer, teacher and sound engineer.
Curriculum
My background is with the jazz school so I will be focusing on improvisation techniques and how you can find your own sound (speaking of sound, it is important to know that if you are a beginner or desire to play classical saxophone I'm not the right teacher for you since it's a totally different approach of sound and style).
In my classes the students learn all of the necessary bases for the practice of this style of music:
-Improvisation
-Reading sheet music
-Techniques of the instrument, sound improvement
-Jazz Theory and harmony
-Composition
-Ear development
-Transcriptions
-Analog and Digital effects
Above all the classes are prepared according to the level of the student in a way that motivates the student with constructive challenges.
In my opinion it is important to give all of the above tools to improve the home practice of the student in a way that by practicing, the student already enjoys their time while they develop their skills.

Credentials & Affiliations
My degree is in music production and technology (ESMAE-IPP) and I made my masters in music education, specifically in jazz saxophone (ESE/ESMAE-IPP). This past year in Porto I have been working as a freelancer, music performer, teacher and sound engineer.
Some of the artists that I have worked with are Zé Manel fortes, Eneida Marta, Binham Kimor, Lola lola, (OJM-J) junior Orquestra de Jazz de Matozinhos, Kiko Pereira, just to name some, and as beforementioned I currently play with Fatspoon.
I have played at some renowned stages and at festivals in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa and in my home country of Portugal; Festival de Bubaque 2019 (GB), Festival de Varela 2019 (GB), National Stadium of Guinea-Bissau 2019, Centro Cultural Português (GB), Centro Cultural Franco-Guinean (GB), Casa da Música (PT), Debandada Festival 2017 (PT), FESTIVAL PURPLE WEEKEND 2016 (ES) and Serralves em Festa 2015 (PT).
