Congratulations to Lessonface teachers Erika Andres and Leah Kruszewski for reaching 5,000+ lessons taught on Lessonface! We’re thrilled to be able to celebrate this significant milestone in their online teaching journeys with these two fantastic instructors.
Lessonface's 2nd annual TeacherFest, happening July 17-21, 2023, is now open for enrollment. Great music, language, and arts teachers are invited to take part in the week's activities for sharing information about teaching online, meeting one another, participating in giveaways for highly recommended online teaching tech, and learning from the staff at Lessonface about the latest features and capabilities of our platform for teaching and being treated equitably while doing it.
We are thrilled to invite music enthusiasts of all levels to participate in virtual jam sessions hosted by 15 great Lessonface instructors for Make Music Day, June 21st. Whether you're a beginner looking to jam for the first time or an experienced musician seeking new connections and inspiration, there is a great jam session for you!
Lessonface is pleased to announce a new season of masterclasses in collaboration with the MET Orchestra Musicians. During the 2023-24 Season Lessonface will host masterclasses with MET Orchestra Concertmaster Benjamin Bowman (September 24), Principal Viola Milan Milisavljević (September 17), Principal Flute Chelsea Knox (April 21), and Principal Trombone Sasha Romero (February 4).
A recent Zoom update added a feature called Live Performance Audio that enables musicians to play together online. It works for private lessons and larger groups. We’re excited about it and think you’ll enjoy using it in lessons! Here’s how to make the most of this new option.
A three month routine of lessons (and practicing for those lessons) can create powerful habits for our futures, and great habits help us toward our long term goals. Focusing on what you’re trying to achieve and why can inspire and motivate you to keep going long enough to create the new habits or routine you envision.
And a teacher who supports you every step of the way can be a very important part in keeping you on track towards reaching your goals!
Our third annual LESSONFEST begins tomorrow, Monday April 17th. The 2023 LESSONFEST is a week of over fifty free live classes taught by incredible teachers covering a variety of music and arts topics. LESSONFEST classes are for a variety of ages and levels, with the details on each class page about the intended audience. While there have already been more enrollments this year than last, there are seats available in many of the classes.
Recently, one of Donovan Kwan’s current piano students of Lessonface, Steve Hubbard, passed his fourth, ABRSM Grade 3 Piano Exam with distinction. Donovan has been teaching Steve the piano since March 2022, from the beginner level onwards. From then, Donovan has coached & helped Steve to pass all of his four ABRSM Piano Exams with flying colours! In addition, they are now working towards the fifth ABRSM Piano Exam Award, Grade 4!
Here is what Steve had to say about his experience with Lessonface:
Earlier this year, Grammy award winning music educator and Lessonface Teacher Melissa Salguero sat down with MET Orchestra violinist Katherine Fong for a fun and lively introduction to the violin. The talk was filmed at a concert venue in New York City and was sponsored by Southwest Strings. The full video appears below this article.
Lorinda Jones came to Lessonface through our wonderful partnership with John C. Campbell Folk School. Lorinda has been a student favorite on Lessonface since 2020, teaching both Harp and Dulcimer, and is our teacher spotlight for the month of March. She has also very graciously put together a Celtic Harp tutorial just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.
