About
I am an alumnus from Berklee College of Music in Boston and a scholarship recipient from the Asia Tour. I have over 10 years experience teaching children of all age groups in schools, summer camps and also private and group classes. Previously I have performed alongside Grammy and Oscar-winning musicians in historic venues like the Boston Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, New England Conservatory, BPC, amongst many others. I founded the music program at AJBT Green Dot Public School in Los Angeles and also served as their lead music teacher in 2017. During the Summer'2018, I was the Music Head Specialist at Camp Echo Lake, New York, a leading summer camp in the US. I also recruit other music teachers for various summer camps in the US through our company. My principal instrument is Guitar but I am also a multi-instrumentalist, composer and a singer/songwriter. I manage a music production company called Immersed Records in Los Angeles.
I can assure that my students are not just instrumentalists but overall musicians.
With my experience teaching children and adults of all age groups, I have understood that each person has a different way of learning music and the teacher has to adapt her/his methods to effectively teach a lesson. I have a fun and interactive way of teaching where I incorporate teaching concepts based on the genre of music that the student likes. Music theory and live playing are two different aspects of teaching. I try to not only make sure that the student is able to play the instrument but also understand how the basic structure of music works in terms of harmony, theory, notes and rhythm.
I create a curriculum based on each student's needs. However, I try to follow the Berklee course structure as it has proven effective for many of my students.
