Through the school band I picked up the clarinet and bass clarinet, and in high school my curiosity got the best of my and I learned how to play my grandpa’s cornet using a fingering chart printed from the Internet.

At age 14, he began clarinet studies at the University of Antioquia's preparatory music school. He left Colombia in 2006 with a scholarship to study English and Music at Atlantic Union College, MA.
