About Me I’m Jair‑Rohm Parker Wells, a pioneering American electric bassist, composer, and Chapman Stick player. My career spans over five decades, with deep roots in rock, funk, free jazz, avant‑garde improvisation, and experimental music. After growing up in southern Germany, I relocated to New York in 1978. I toured the U.S.

My two main teachers are now legends, Lucile Lawrence, who was Mrs. Carlos Salzedo and his collaborator in all things musical, and Alice Chalifoux, one of his foremost pupils. Lawrence was the top harpist and teacher in New York City and Boston for many years. Chalifoux was the top harpist and teacher in Cleveland.

I am a professional violist living in The Hague, the Netherlands. I studied at the CRR in Boulogne-Billancourt, Trinity College London, the Conservatory of The Hague and the Dutch String Quartet Academy in the Netherlands. I have devoted a large part of my life to playing the string quartet.

Choose to learn with an expert instructor! I am a retired choir and orchestra director for a school district (28 years) and currently teach music theory, guitar, ukulele, piano, and songwriting classes part time at a local comunity college.
