Born in Uruapan, Michoacán, México, he began his music studies with Victor Flores at the Conservatorio de las Rosas in Morelia, Mexico. Martinez is Double Bass Faculty at the Peabody Preparatory of Johns Hopkins University.

English: Santiago Lamisovski is one of the required double bassists in the Buenos Aires jazz scene. He studied at the School of Contemporary Music (formerly Berklee) and holds a degree in Jazz, specializing in double bass, from the Manuel de Falla Conservatory.
