I’ve been playing the guitar for twenty-eight years now, and studied with a variety of teachers including Bob Ferguson (a classical guitarist) and Michael Harris (a platinum selling metal guitarist). I began teaching guitar lessons when I was a sophomore at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

As the 2020 Lessonface.com Teacher of the Year, I enjoy teaching students of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds. Imagine this… I was 19 years old, learned to play the guitar all by myself, and “Stairway to Heaven” was my ultimate achievement. “Pretty advanced” you’re thinking, I know. And with that skill level I made up my mind to apply to the Conservatory (of Universidad Austral). I was bold and hilarious.

Welcome, students! I’m a flamenco and classical guitarist based in Seville, Spain, with seventeen years of teaching experience. I specialize in teaching flamenco compás, technique, and repertoire and in guiding classical guitarists in developing their technique, repertoire, sight-reading and interpretive skills.

I've been performing and teaching guitar, banjo, and mandolin in the DC area and online since 2012. I play guitar and Banjo with the bluegrass band Cherry Blossom Special. In my own playing I've mostly pursued Bluegrass, classical and jazz but I love helping students reach their own goals regardless of style.

I've been playing the guitar for over 40 years and have experience in teaching school age students as well as adults. In addition to this I play and teach Native American Style Flute and Didgeridoo. I also have experience working with those with special needs. Over time I have learned various styles and techniques for guitar, it is my main instrument.

Over 4000 lessons taught on Lessonface: Ms. Svec attended the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University on full scholarship to earn both her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in music education where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was chosen to be a Chancellor Scholar at Appalachian State University.
