I am a recent graduate of the University of Toronto's Jazz Performance program with a diverse set of experiences pertaining to music education. Teaching has played a large role in my life for almost as long as I have been playing the instrument. Brett Rechtfertig has been teaching professionally for 11+ years, is an international touring musician and a graduate of Berklee College of Music. Having played guitar for 25 years, Brett has professional experience onstage and in the studio in virtually all styles of popular music; a range of genres from jazz, blues, funk, folk, country all the way through rock and metal.

I’m a composer, guitarist, arranger, sound designer, and producer based in Brooklyn, NY. I’ve taught at Yale, Saint David's School, and CO-OP Arts High School, among others; performed around the world in rock bands, orchestras, opera pits, and experimental groups; composed award-winning orchestra pieces, critically-acclaimed rock albums, and film/TV soundtracks.
