For over 33 years as a musician and 29 years as an educator for all grade levels and teachers alike, I have the experience of learning from my previous students and applying more efficient techniques to current and future ones. Much like my students, I work towards learning the most innovative techniques while foreseeing the trends of the future in music and education.

I am an elementary school teacher in Rhode Island with a degree in music. My first instrument was guitar, which I can play at a professional level. I am comfortable teaching: jazz, jazz fusion, metal (currently in a metal band!), rock, progressive rock/metal, and classical guitar.

Rohit Sivaram is a graduate from The Berklee College of Music, an artist recognized by PRS Guitars and a Grammy submitted musician. His music is in the genres of rock, metal and Carnatic on the guitar. While at Berklee he composed, produced and arranged a solo record featuring Berklee faculty and influential contemporary artists.

Tom Arbaugh is an established musician and teacher who has been playing guitar, bass guitar, and double bass for over 20 years. Bio: I am a 29-year-old graduate of Jazz Performance studies at the prestigious Capilano University and an experienced music educator who has afforded himself lessons from the very best in the world. I have first-hand knowledge from music legends like Frank Vignola, Gene Bertoncini, Chris Eldridge, and locally to Vancouver, Bill Coon, and Ron Samworth among others.

My goal and hope is to assist you in decoding some of its mysteries, strengthening your understanding of music as a whole and to better define your artistic voice as a musician.

About Me & My Teaching Approach Professional Background With over 30 years of professional performance and 25 years of teaching experience, my musical journey has spanned across Mexico, Canada, and Brazil. I am a multi-instrumentalist (Bass, Guitar, Piano, and Drums) and a composer currently preparing for an international performance contract with Disney.

Guitarist with Over 20 Years of Expertise – Classical to Electric 🎸 Since 1999, I’ve been on an exciting journey with the guitar, starting with classical training and progressing to electric guitar mastery. I graduated from music school with a focus on classical guitar, where I won multiple competitions, including a national title.

I am a seasoned professional musician with 12 years of experience teaching guitar to all levels of students - from complete beginners to university-level jazz players. I currently teach in-person at Lake Highlands School of Music in Dallas, where I've had a full roster of students 4-5 days a week for several years now.
