Hello! My name is Courtney and I began my PhD studies in 2014. I have taught university-level courses on European History, Medieval History, American History, and the History of the Holocaust. I am interested in the history of medieval medicine, particularly issues surrounding mental health, social perceptions of illness and disease, and the intersection of medicine and religion.

Ya Sheng is currently a JD candidate studying at Yale Law School. He attended boarding school at Phillips Exeter Academy and later went on to study at Princeton University, graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Magna Cum Laude. There, he studied Political Theory and obtained certificates in Values & Public Life and Italian Language & Culture.

I am an experienced language teacher who has taught students of all backgrounds. While earning my Masters in Education at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, I learned the best practices for teaching languages. As lover of language learning, I speak eight languages and I have lived and worked in the US, France, South Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, and Indonesia.

I am an English teacher with more than 14 years of classroom teaching experience. For the past 12 years I have taught 7th and 8th grade English. I am a graduate of Elon University and hold a masters degree in literature from Salisbury University. I taught freshman literature and composition at Salisbury while earning my graduate degree.
