Learn from Great Composition Teachers

Hello there! My name is Kaden Powers, and I teach jazz piano, composition, and music theory. I started seriously learning piano at the age of 17, learning various jazz solos, watching youtube videos, and briefly took piano lessons. I did not learn in the traditional sense. However, that does not mean I cannot share my wealth of knowledge with you.

I started my music studies at the age of 10 in the classical organ class, at 11 i started in the piano class at the Valentim Moreira de Sá Music Academy, until 2002. During that time, i held music improvement workshops with pianists such as Inga Dsekster or Tânia Achot.

I am an accomplished, award-winning guitarist, composer and teacher and have been teaching guitar and music for 20 years. I have both a Bachelor's and a Masters Degree in Music. I teach all levels from beginner to advanced, including at the university level, and all styles (rock, jazz, blues, folk, funk, metal, shred, pop, R&B, classical, etc.).

I am a multi-instrumentalist, composer and educator. I have performed professionally since 1993, with over 3,000 professional engagements since then as drummer, jazz vibraphonist, orchestral/theater percussionist, and even some guitar and bass. From 1999 until 2010 I averaged over 150 gigs a year, typically with dozens of bandleaders and contractors in a single year.

Pete began playing electric bass in 1988, self-taught for the first two years, he learned to play by ear on a fretless 4 string bass. It was not long afterwards that he progressed to 5 and 6 string fretted and fretless basses as well as double bass.

Hi! I'm Ignacio, I'm 25 years old and I've been studying music since I was 15, and I will never stop studying! Music is my life. I am from Argentina and I have played in orchestras in different cities there, and also in orchestras and musical groups in the United States and Germany.

Yuri Martín Juárez Yllescas (Lima-Peru 1973), guitarist, arranger and composer, began his career in 1996 as guitarist for various groups of Afro-Peruvian music, folk and fusion. His musical training ranges from formal studies at New York University with Gil Goldstein, John Scofield and Peter Bernstein and also with the Peruvian masters of the guitar such as Pepe Torres, Alvaro…

Dr. Kit is a cellist and composer in Oregon. He has been teaching Music Theory, Cello, Piano, and Composition for class sizes of 1 person and up for more than 10 years. He has a PhD in Music Theory, Master's in Composition, and more than 20 years of playing experience in cello, piano, and choral singing.

Claudia Lee Horna is a violinist and media (film, TV and video game) composer. She attended the acclaimed Berklee College of Music with a scholarship and recently graduated with a degree in Film Scoring and a minor in American Roots Music. Hailing from Peru, Claudia began her musical journey on the violin at a young age.

Hi! I´m Gabriela Weiss and I have been playing guitar since I can remember! I have a degree in classical guitar from the Conservatorio Superior Manuel de Falla, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I also have a masters on injuries prevention (caused by bad techniques), that means I will make sure that you are comfortable while playing, nothing should hurt while you practice!
