I graduated from Michigan State University in 2015 with a bachelors degree in Jazz Studies. Hello there! I'm Ess! I'm a musician, composer, electronic music maker, and educator currently doing my PhD in Music at University of California-San Diego. My musical background is quite diverse, as I love ALL kinds of music: I have played guitar since for 20 years, piano for 26 years, trumpet for 10 years, and have been making electronic music as a producer since 2015.

Over the course of my musical career, I have had the opportunity to learn from many musicians. From University Professors to Street Corner Musicians, I have gathered much knowledge on playing music. Applying that knowledge to my guitar playing has opened up many doors of opportunity and has made life very fun.

My full range of musical services includes live solo performance, band performance, orchestra/pit performance, session recording, music director, concert production, arranging, songwriting, composition, and musical education. I started performing professionally as an acoustic and electric guitarist in the mid 80s.

I have been teaching guitar for over 20 years and as an instructor, My teaching method comes from a curriculum I have developed which uses popular guitar driven rock tunes as musical etudes. Educating the student with valuable theory, reading, technique, and scale theory, while remaining fun.

I felt in love with music when I was 12 and, by then, I have never left it. After 5 years of individual guitar lessons (both classical, acoustic and electric guitar) I decided to follow academic studies in Rome, at the prestigious Saint Louis College of Music.
