Learn from Great Flute Teachers

Hello! My name is Christina Efthymiou, and I am a classical and contemporary flutist based in Cyprus. I hold a BMus (Hons) in Music Studies and an MMus in Flute Performance (Advanced Musical Studies) from Royal Holloway, University of London, where I studied under Carla Rees.

Originally from Alaska, Katie had a prolific performance career as a high school student. She has several first chair awards from Alaska All State Music festival, both in orchestral and band groups for both flute and piccolo. She also has several awards from her years competing in the Alaska State Solo and Ensemble music festival.

Ian van Nuys is a woodwind specialist, with playing proficiency in saxophone, oboe, flute, and clarinet. His primary instrument is the saxophone, which he studied as part of Dr. Chien-Kwan Lin’s saxophone studio at Eastman School of Music. Before studying at Eastman, Ian studied saxophone with Mr.

Music and teaching are such enjoyable parts of my life! I love playing flute and sharing what I learn with others. After starting my music training on piano, I decided to concentrate on playing the flute eventually earning my college degree in music as a flutist. I decided in kindergarten that I wanted to be a teacher.

I've had a love for music for as long as I can remember, but it was learning the flute that really drove me to pursue a career in music. As a New Hampshire All State participant and a John Philip Sousa Band Award recipient, I know first hand how much joy studying music can bring, but also the hard work and dedication it takes to excel.

I have been performing and teaching music for many years in a variety of situations and trained at the Royal Academy of Music (London) and King's College. As a wind player (Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute and Recorder) I perform regularly in orchestras as a soloist and orchestral player and my piano skills are used as an accompanist.

Ana is a professional multi-instrumentalist, composer, and arranger known for her diversity in classical, jazz, and pop styles.

Originally from Colorado, I received a Bachelor of Music Performance at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. I hold two Master of Music degrees from New York University, Steinhardt. In 2008 I started teaching guitar and recorder for two sisters who lived across the street.

I have a Music Degree from the University of British Columbia. I have been a professional musician for 30+ years and my travels have taken me to over 60 countries. I sing and play piano, saxophone, flute, acoustic guitar and bass guitar in a variety of styles and venues. I have also done extensive studio recording and have conducted and written for numerous choirs and orchestras.

I have been teaching piano, strings, and band instruments (flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, and drums) for more than 30 years in the public schools as well as privately. I have instructed large groups and ensembles, as well as smaller musical groups in and out of the public schools.
