Stephanie Mortimore, principal piccoloist for the Metropolitan Opera since 2009, has performed widely, won many awards, performed on three Grammy Award winning recordings, and taught numerous master classes. She received her Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory and Bachelor of Music from DePaul University.

I like to work within the Jazz and Brazilian music styles. Besides developing reading skills, improvisation theory and creativity, I stimulate students to learn by heart the repertoire. Every week we study a new tune, memorize it, improvise on it and analyze its melody an harmony.

Dr. Karla Ordonez is the former adjunct professor at McMurry, Hardin-Simmons, and Abilene Christian Universities where she taught flute, harmony, forms and analysis, and music appreciation.
