Hello, I’m Jay, a full-time piano educator and co-founder of SGMusicians. My musical journey began at the age of 4 through the Yamaha Junior Music Course, where I developed strong aural skills and the ability to play by ear. I went on to achieve ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano and Music Theory, both with Distinction, and was later awarded the LTCL in Piano Performance with Distinction.

I am a composer, pianist, accordionist, and Spanish teacher currently based in France, where I am pursuing a second Master's degre. My background includes studies in composition in Mexico, France, Switzerland, Hungary, and Germany, as well as a Spanish teaching certificate issued by the Cervantes Institute.

I earned a bachelor's degree in Music Media with a concentration in violin from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2020. Throughout my career, I have mentored over 1,000 students individually, guiding hundreds of them to successfully enter Conservatories and Fine Arts High Schools. 🏆 My philosophy is simple: Music is loved first, then learned.

I have been on a life journey that allowed me to travel across the country lecturing, performing music, and teaching therapeutic art.
