Hello! I have been playing piano with my family from the age of 6, pursuing professional piano lessons around the age of 12. After attending college, where I received a BS degree in Music, as well as 5 years' experience accompanying choirs, ensembles, and bands, I began teaching in my own studio and have done so since 2012.

Alison has taught over 20,000 lessons in various instruments and voice to over 550 students in private lessons and small groups, in person and online. Her students range from age 3 through adults. I have a degree in Jazz from L'Aula at Berklee College of Music and a certificate in Music from the Gregorian Institute in Lisbon. My teaching focuses on developing a solid foundation in technique, music theory, sight-reading, and improvisation, while encouraging creativity and musical expression. I tailor each lesson to the student's goals and learning style.

Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. Jack Schabert is a Twin Cities based drummer, composer, and educator. He performs professionally around the metro area with various jazz groups, and is an Instructor of Percussion, Piano, Drum Set, and Jazz Studies at Opus Music Academy. Jack is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.
