I began playing the violin at the age of 11. My first violin instruction was in Reno, Nevada with Valerie Nelson of the Reno Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. Since the late 90's, I have played in over a dozen symphony orchestras, soloing with the Orchestra of Southern Utah, the Southwest Symphony, and the Symphony of the Canyons.

I've been playing guitar for over 30 years, and teaching over 20 years. I studied jazz guitar with Casey Mallow (Berklee grad), Hugh Douglass, and Mark Burin (Berklee Grad). I studied Classical and Jazz guitar with Dr. Matthew Slotkin and earned a BM in Guitar Performance from Mansfield University in 2006.

I began my music teaching journey back in 2012 after attending the University of Colorado Denver. I was pursuing a music degree and at the time I believed touring would be my main source of income. After I had my first guitar student my life path suddenly changed and I realized my passion for teaching.
