Learn from Great Trumpet Teachers

I am a composer, trumpet player based in Athens, Greece. Even though I had mostly classical training, I ended up being attracted a lot by western European avant-garde, experimental music, electronic music as well as folk music of the Balkans. Born in 1979, I started my personal, musical journey with guitar and songwriting at an early age.

I have had two careers in my life. I went to school from classical trumpet and received B.M. in music performance, The Crane School of Music, and a Masters of Music from Arizona State under David Hickman. I then played as principal trumpet of the Musica Nova Orchestra for four years. I left Arizona to pursue playing and touring with a traditional Jazz performing group.

Jerry is a graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Music, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in trumpet performance. He also attended the Juilliard School in New York for graduate studies, where he studied trumpet with the virtuoso trumpet player and world-renowned Gerard Schwarz.

Tobija Hrastnik was born in 1997, the sixth child in a family of nine. He grew up in a small village near Laško, where he started playing trumpet at the Music School Laško- Radeče. He continued his musical career in Celje with professor Miran Majcen, where he also graduated from high school.

My experience as a musician, performer and brass tutor has developed a passion and personal commitment to three things: fostering a positive learning environment for students with various backgrounds, maximising individual student performance and developing student interest in different brass performance techniques as well as music theory knowledge growth.

From Las Vegas, Nevada, Joshua Camper is an active trumpeter, teacher, and arranger. He is currently completing a Master’s degree at DePaul University, studying with Esteban Batallan and Stephen Burns. In addition to being a classically trained musician, Joshua has performed and taught mariachi and jazz.

Dylan Wilson is a multi-faceted trumpeter in the St. Louis / Southern Illinois area. Dylan is currently Active Duty military in the United States Air Force. He is stationed at Scott AFB and is a member of the USAF Band of Mid-America (BoMA). He tours frequently with the BoMA Concert Band, Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble, and the Airlifter Brass Quintet.

Hi! I’m a passionate music educator with over 8 years of teaching experience—5 years in public schools and 3 years teaching private lessons. In 2021, I was honored as Teacher of the Year at my public school in Rhode Island. I teach voice, piano, ukulele, and drums, and I’m trained to teach the basics of all band and orchestra instruments.
