I started learning the tuba when I was nine years old, thanks to my school’s music department where I had one-to-one lessons and played in county and regional groups. Over time, I progressed to national ensembles like the National Youth Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra Wales, and the National Youth Brass Band of Wales.

John holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Brigham Young University–Idaho and a Master of Arts in Conducting from Sam Houston State University in Texas. Throughout his musical career, John has enjoyed outstanding performance opportunities across the United States and internationally.
