Music has always been a big part of my life, starting with classical piano, which I began at age 8, taking private lessons from a professor at the University of Tennessee. Later on, in my teens, my interests shifted to strings and traditional Appalachian and Celtic music.

Professional musician with over 20 years experience helping people to get what they want out of playing a musical instrument. Lindsey received a doctorate in Music and Music Education from Columbia University's Teachers College. She has over 20-years of teaching experience with individual and group instruction, ages 3-50+. She finished her Masters in String Pedagogy and Performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Initially trained as a classical violinist, my current passions include Southern Old-Time, Irish, French-Canadian Fiddle music and Klezmer. In June 2011, I became the first teacher in Washington State to be certified in the Mark O'Connor Violin Method, a developmental curriculum of American folk music for students of all levels.

Erynn Marshall lives in Hillsville, Virginia and is known internationally for her traditional music. Erynn learned the nuances of Appalachian old-time fiddling from rare recordings and visiting 80-95 year-old southern fiddlers. Her original tunes are becoming common repertoire in fiddle circles.

Tara Shupe was raised playing traditional American Fiddle Music and Bluegrass. She began playing festival stages at 6 years old and toured the US and Europe playing mandolin and singing with the award winning youth bluegrass band String Fever starting in her teens, taking the stages of Telluride, Rockygrass, La Roche Festival in France, GreyFox, IBMA, and more.

I began studying music as a child in rural North Carolina. I studied classical violin and commercial percussion until choosing an unorthodax path of Bluegrass, Country, and Old-Time music studies as my undergraduate program. After college, I moved to Norway and studied Jazz Violin and Improvisational Music at the Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH) in Oslo.

Amanda Steinemann (BMus in Composition, UVic) loves sharing her knowledge of music with students of all ages and skill levels. She has been teaching violin, viola, and piano lessons through local music schools and privately both in person and online, and enjoys incorporating composition and music theory elements into the lessons.

I've been teaching violin and fiddle for over 15 years and specialize in helping adult learners develop the skills and confidence to play the music they love.
