Ziya Tabassian began playing the tombak (Iranian drum) at the age of ten. After a brief initiation period in Iran, he continued his autodidactic training in Quebec, his adopted homeland. Justin Douté is a drum, classical percussion, hand drumming, and basic piano instructor. He attended the Denver School of the Arts for Music and the Manhattan School of Music. While an undergraduate, he overcame three leukemia diagnoses and later completed his Bachelor’s in Music Performance at the University of North Florida.

I studied classic percussion at the La Plata city Conservatory with the master Ernesto Ringer (Colon theater percussionist). I studied drums with the master Horacio Gianello and Hindu percussion (tabla) with the master Sanjay Badhoriya and Armony with the master Horacio Moscovici.

I have been involved with Drums and Music since 1995. A lifelong student myself, I am deeply passionate about learning, exploring and sharing the amazing world of Percussion with my students and peers. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music from Western Washington University in 2006, and since then I have performed extensively across the country in clubs, theaters and festivals.
