Hi! I’m Liz, a California-based harpist with a classical background and a love for teaching. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance from the Colburn School, and Master’s degrees from USC Thornton and the University of the Arts Berlin, where I studied with JoAnn Turovsky and Marie-Pierre Langlamet.

My passion is teaching you to play the harp. My goal is to help you become the best harpist that you can be. My professional training was at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve University where I received both my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Harp Performance and Music Education. I have over 30 years teaching and performance experience.

I offer coaching in voice, piano and guitar for singers, and songwriting. I work from a holistic methodology, incorporating elements of theoretical knowledge, ear training, performance technique, body awareness, mindfulness, creativity, and improvisation into my coaching sessions.

Mariko Anraku has been a member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra since 1995 and is a faculty member at The Manhattan School of Music and The Pacific Music Festival. She is an experienced soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player and teacher, and has recorded 3 solo CDs and a flute&harp CD with eminent flutist Emmanuel Pahud, exclusively for EMI Classics. I'm a classically trained harpist based in New York City, offering private harp lessons to students of all ages and experience levels. With a strong background in both performance and music education, I’m passionate about sharing the beauty and versatility of the harp with others.

Freelance harpist based between Scotland and the North of Portugal. I work regularly as a with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra of Scotland and Scottish Opera and am one of the Harp Lecturers at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Zane Mallett is the Principal Harpist of the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra. He has appeared as Guest Principal Harp with the San Francisco, Oregon, Utah, Buffalo, and Rochester Symphonies, and has also performed with ensembles including the Toronto, Charlotte, and Winnipeg Symphonies. Before joining the Hawaii Symphony, Zane served as Principal Harp of the Baton Rouge Symphony.

My two main teachers are now legends, Lucile Lawrence, who was Mrs. Carlos Salzedo and his collaborator in all things musical, and Alice Chalifoux, one of his foremost pupils. Lawrence was the top harpist and teacher in New York City and Boston for many years. Chalifoux was the top harpist and teacher in Cleveland.
