Welcome! I'm Ali Hussain, an oud player, educator, and author deeply rooted in the rich traditions of Arabic music and spirituality. With over a decade of experience performing and teaching across the Western world and beyond, I specialize in guiding students through the art of oud playing, Arabic maqam theory, and the deeper cultural and spiritual contexts of the music.

I have been playing music for 20 years over a variety of instruments including piano, bass guitar, acoustic and electric guitar, vocals, kit, trumpet, flute, and many more.

I've been a professional musician since the age of 14 having the good luck of being able to play all across America, Alaska, Europe, South America, Central America and Indonesia. I've played in big bands, latin bands, funk bands, classic rock bands, jazz bands, recording studios, TV, pit bands, and original bands. I love teaching Sax, Trumpet, Guitar, Theory, and Improv.

I have been performing and teaching music for many years in a variety of situations and trained at the Royal Academy of Music (London) and King's College. As a wind player (Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute and Recorder) I perform regularly in orchestras as a soloist and orchestral player and my piano skills are used as an accompanist.

I am originally from Rotterdam, the Netherlands and have been playing bass since I was 13 years old. I graduated in 2023 with a degree in Electric Bass from BIMM Berlin and have studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston (Summer 2018) and Holland College in Canada (2019-2020).

I’ve been studying guitar privately for over 30 years and have taught professionally for more than 20. My teaching covers a wide range of styles—including jazz, pop, rock and blues—with a strong foundation in improvisation, music theory, and ear training.

I'm ready to help you bring your musicianship to the next level. As a lifelong musician and avid learner, I have been through the paces of learning new skills and studying a wide range of disciplines. Across years of teaching, I have put together a creative and engaging approach to lessons. I cannot wait to share my enthusiasm with you.

Rachel is primarily a Voice instructor. She also teaches beginner Piano as well as beginner and intermediate music theory. Rachel started taking piano lessons at age 7 in Douglasville, Georgia. At the age of 12 she moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where her musical interests continued to grow.
